3 Things that God Cannot Do!
1. God Cannot Lie
Titus 1:2 NLT [2] This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
Hebrews 6:18 NLT [18] So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
2. God Cannot Change
Malachi 3:6 NLT [6] “I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed.
Hebrews 13:8 NLT [8] Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
James 1:17 NLT [17] Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
3. God Cannot Break or Contradict His Word/Promise/Oath
Hebrews 6:17-20 NLT [17] God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. [18] So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. [19] This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. [20] Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
