Power and Authority
Exousia = Authority or Ruling
Dunamis = Power or Miraculous
Authority = Healing or Deliverance = Removal of something that should not be there
Power = Miraculous = Recreation, Restoration or Regeneration
Power is a Gift that Comes with Receiving the Holy Spirit, it can only change things in the natural/visible/physical realm
Authority comes by Relationship/Intimacy/Presence with Jesus only!! It can immediately change or affect both the natural/visible/physical realm as well as the supernatural/invisible realm
‘Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region. ‘ Luke 4:14
‘Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught there in the synagogue every Sabbath day. There, too, the people were amazed at his teaching, for he spoke with authority. Once when he was in the synagogue, a man possessed by a demon—an evil spirit—cried out, shouting, “Go away! Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further. Amazed, the people exclaimed, “What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!” The news about Jesus spread through every village in the entire region. ‘ Luke 4:31-37
‘Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”’
Mark 4:38-41
‘When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people, he returned to Capernaum. At that time the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death. When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave. So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said, “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.” So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following him, he said, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!” And when the officer’s friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed. ‘
Luke 7:1-10
‘Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but only to the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep. Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received! ‘ Matthew 10:1,5-8
‘Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.” ‘
Luke 10:19-20
‘Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” ‘ Acts of the Apostles 1:4-8
‘When they couldn’t find them, they took Jason instead, along with some of the brothers in his house church , and dragged them before the city council. Along the way they screamed out, “Those troublemakers who have turned the world upside down have come here to our city. ‘ Acts 17:6
Do you desire to be Free? Do you desire salvation Through Jesus Christ and Him Alone? Do you Desire to Repent and Believe? The Pray the Following;
Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I recognize that You LOVE me and sent Your Son to remove the sin which separates me from You. Father, I respond to Your love and REPENT of ALL past SIN. Please forgive me and cleanse me by the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. By faith, Father, I now receive Your forgiveness and cleansing in Jesus Name, and I thank You that Your Word says that I am now brought near by the Blood of Jesus Christ through which I enter BLOOD COVENANT RELATIONSHIP with You today.
LORD JESUS CHRIST I invite You to come into my life, and I SUBMIT TOTALLY to You. I ask You to be LORD of my SPIRIT, SOUL (mind, thoughts, will, intellect, and emotions), and my BODY.
Now by faith I confess that sin shall no more have dominion over me because your Spirit lives in me. I also confess that I am SAVED; and under covenant through Jesus Christ to receive the promises that are for me (salvation, deliverance, healing, and God’s promises).
Yes and Amen! I renounce the lordship of satan or any authority besides Christ over every area of my spirit, soul (mind, thoughts, will, intellect, and emotions), and my body. I renounce every hold or influence of the devil in ALL areas of my life including everything inherited through the generations because the Word tells me I have a NEW FATHER and I only inherit from Him now. (At this point, deal with any specific things such as witchcraft or occult etc. which must be specifically renounced).
Lord Jesus, You are the BAPTISER in the HOLY SPIRIT, and I ask You to baptize me with the Holy Spirit and FIRE. I believe by faith that I have the same access to the power of the Holy Spirit and rights to every spiritual gift (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) that You gave to the early Church. So I pray that You will help me live and walk daily in all the fullness of the Spirit-filled life You intended for me. I open my heart for you to fill it now with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
